Joe Clyde Daniels' dad accused of killing autistic boy, search for body ongoing

    After three days of a massive search, the dad of missing autistic boy Joe Clyde Daniels is now accused of killing his son and has been arrested and charged with murder.

    According to jail records, Joseph Daniels was booked into Dickson County Jail at 6:24 a.m. Saturday. He’s being held on a $1,000,000 bond. Joe's mother, Krystal Daniels, is also jailed on an aggravated child neglect charge.

    TBI said Daniels killed his son, Joe Clyde Daniels, on the night of April 3 and hid his body.

    Joe Clyde Daniels, 5, was non-verbal and autistic. He was missing from his Garners Creeks Road home since Tuesday night.

    TBI said they believe Joe's dad, Joseph Daniels, killed his son on the night of April 3 and hid the body. Dickson County Sheirff Jeff Bledsoe said during the news conference that Joe Clyde's dad confessed to killing his son.

    Heavy search efforts started Wednesday morning with hundreds of volunteers and several agencies including TBI, THP and TWRA.

    TBI held a news conference Saturday morning, saying the dad has been charged with criminal homicide in the missing boy's death. Law enforcement agencies will now search for Joe Clyde's body. Volunteers are not needed.

    The search for Joe spanned on land, by air and on waterways. An outpouring of support came from the Dickson community and region.
