Hendersonville man wins Nashville marathon for 5th consecutive time

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- More than 30,000 runners took part in the St. Jude Rock 'n' Roll Nashville Marathon on Saturday.

Scott Wietecha, of Hendersonville, Tn., won his fifth St. Jude Rock 'n' Roll Nashville Marathon, while Lauren Mitchell, of Madison, Al., won for the women, after competing in her 40th marathon.

Temperatures in Nashville on Saturday soared to 91 degrees by afternoon causing many runners to struggle.

Two million dollars was raised for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through event.
