Metro Nashville police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Antioch.

A welfare check is made by police to an apartment on the 2900 block of Baby Ruth Lane just before 3 p.m. Friday after 35-year-old Camara Harris did not show up for a family gathering.

Police say they located Harris inside motionless on the sofa, but vacated the apartment after also seeing her boyfriend, 41-year-old Anthony Davis, inside holding a handgun. Then they heard a gunshot.

When police re-entered, they found Harris dead and Davis with a gunshot wound to the head. They found a gun in Davis' possession.

The couple's 6-year-old daughter was inside at the time. Police say she is not injured. She will be placed with family.
