Garbage truck loses control, falls from I-24 bridge onto Bell Road

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A driver was transported to the hospital after a garbage truck fell from Interstate 24.

Metro Police said a garbage truck fell from an I-24 bridge and onto Bell Road in Antioch.

The driver was transported to the hospital but injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Right now, Bell Road heading westbound into Nashville is blocked but heading east toward Chattanooga is still open.
