Funeral arrangements announced for Sonny Melton, hero husband killed in Las Vegas
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —
Funeral arrangements have been announced for Sonny Melton, the Tennessee husband who was killed in the Las Vegas massacre on Sunday.
According to the Ridgeway Funeral Home, visitation is scheduled for Monday, October 9 at Big Sandy School from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A funeral service will follow Tuesday's visitation. Melton's burial will be private.
Melton was hailed a hero after using his body to sheild his wife Heather from gunfire during what it now the deadliest shooting in modern U.S. history.
During an interview with CNN, Heather said Sonny taught her what true love was. The couple was attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival for their one-year anniversary.
Sonny's dad also penned a heartbreaking letter, "My thoughts about Sonny and Heroes," which has been viewed thousands of times.
