FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WZTV) — UPDATE: (11-5-18)
A missing Franklin man has been found in Texas.
Jeremy "JC" Kuppinger, 19, was reported missing after he left his home in Franklin on Oct. 20 at around noon.
Franklin Police say they have spoken with the Cameron County Sheriff's Office in Texas who said Kuppinger was located at a checkpoint.
"Kuppinger was safe and there was no reason to be concerned for his welfare," Franklin Police said.
The Franklin Police Department is searching for a missing 19-year-old after they say he left a note saying he was going out on his own.
Jeremy "JC" Kuppinger, 19, left his home in Franklin on Oct. 20 at around noon and has not been seen since.
The Aware Foundation said it's possible Jeremy may be heading to see a friend camping in the Houston, Texas, area. Franklin Police say they have been in contact with several Houston-area agencies about the case.
Kuppinger's drivers license was used to sell his guitar at a pawn shop in Roma, Texas, on October 26, according to The Aware Foundation. Detectives are looking into the situation.
Kuppinger is known to drive a silver Subaru Forrester with the license plate No. Z281748.
The 19-year-old was described as having dark brown hair and blue eyes, standing at 5'7" weighing 119 lbs, with pierced ears and a tattoo on his right calf.
Those close to the situation say he mostly wears dark/black clothing and baseball caps.
