Former Franklin dance instructor accused of statutory rape involving 14-year-old girl
FRANKLIN, Tenn. —
The Franklin Police Department arrested a dance instructor on multiple sex charges involving a 14-year-old girl after the teen's parents brought 'disturbing information' to police.
Ross McCord, 29, taught as a dance teacher at Franklin's DC Dance Factory for part of his 10 years of teaching teen dance, according to Franklin Police.
Officers started investigating McCord on October 24 after the teen girl's parents came forward with 'disturbing information' about McCord and their daughter. Police said McCord, a Brentwood resident, is being investigated in other areas for similar crimes.
McCord was charged with the following charges:
- four counts of statutory rape by an authority figure
- four counts of aggravated statutory rape
- solicitation, sexual exploitation of a minor
- exploitation of a minor by electronic means
He was booked into the Williamson County Jail with a $50,000 bond
Franklin detectives said they are concerned that he could have other victims. Anyone with information should contact Franklin Police.
