NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) --A father is facing charges of child neglect sixteen years after the alleged incident.

According to the arrest affidavit for William Perry Ledford, Ledford was booked into the Davidson County Jail on Sunday for two charges of child neglect.

Records state in July 2001, Ledford failed to provide medical attention to his four-year-old son at the time after the boy suffered second degree burns to his face and back due to sunburn.

Ledford brought the boy from Kentucky to Nashville, dropping him off at the Madison Child Care Center. A day care worker observed the boy had open sores on his face and shoulders and stated the boy was in "obvious distress." The worker then contacted the boy's mother, who transported the boy to Vanderbilt Pediatric Emergency Center.
