CODE RED: Tornado Watch issued for parts of middle Tennessee

    CODE RED UPDATE: Tornado Watch now issued for parts of Middle Tennessee until 7 pm.

    A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Wayne and Lawrence counties through 2:30 p.m.

    Wind gusts in these areas was estimated at 60 MPH gusts.

    UPDATE (10 a.m.)

    FOX 17 News is in a Code Red weather alert as tornado watches have been issued for parts of Tennessee and Kentucky.

    A tornado watch was issued for Benton, Decatur, Hardin, Henry and Fayette counties through noon.

    Another tornado watch was issued for Trigg, Christian, Todd, Logan, Simpson counties in Kentucky until 4 p.m.

    A tornado was reported to touch down in Paducah, Ky., just outside the FOX 17 News viewing area.

    A wind advisory has also been issued until 7 p.m.

    SkyWatch 17 meteorologists are monitoring the track and timing.
