Damage in Cool Springs area, indications of possible tornado touchdown

UPDATE (5 p.m.) The National Weather Service confirms an EF1 tornado caused damage in Williamson County, north of downtown Franklin from Fieldstone Park to Cool Springs

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--The Nashville Emergency Operations Center reports damage to power lines and trees indicate a possible tornado touchdown on the 6700 block of Pettus Road.

Franklin Police say there has been major damage to a bank in Cool Springs, thankfully no injuries reported. Several power lines have also been reported as downed, trees ripped out of the ground, traffic lights down. Area of Cool Springs reportedly sustained most of the impact and damage.

Earlier reports based on radar indications showed 100 mph winds south of Brentwood and there were unconfirmed reports of cars being lifted off the ground.
