NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Two guns were recovered Wednesday in separate incidents at a pair of Nashville schools.
In the first case, Metro Police say a sophomore at Whites Creeks High School was arrested for carrying a firearm on campus.
School staff reportedly smelled a "strong odor" of marijuana around the student. That's when the school conducted a search on him and his vehicle. Police said the school found a plastic baggie with several grams of weed and a loaded gun from the teen's car.
The second case was unrelated. Police said a student tip at East Nashville Magnet High School led to the recovery of a pistol from a vehicle.
Three students in that case were interviewed, but no charges have been filed. An investigation remains ongoing.
