UPDATE: Metro Police have identified the man who died in an apparent workplace accident as Christopher Mays.

The 47-year-old died at Alexander's Mobility Services on Cockrill Bend.

West precinct officers say Mays was unloading a semi-trailer of plywood boards that had been secured upright at the end of the trailer. Police believe Mays unsecured the boards to drop them onto the forklift when they fell on him, pinning him against the wall.

Mays passed away at the scene.

UPDATE: Metro Police confirm that a man died in an apparent workplace accident in Nashville.

Police were called at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday regarding a death at 7235 Cockrill Bend Road, Alexander's Mobility Services.

A man had reportedly been unloading a pallet of particle board by himself and the load fell on top of him. His body was found by coworkers. Police aren't sure exactly what time the accident took place.

Metro Police and Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration (TOSHA) responded to the scene.

The identity of the worker has not yet been disclosed.

Nashville Fire Department and MNPD are on scene of a work place incident.

Dispatch confirms a man was working with plywood, the plywood fell on top of him.
