COLUMBIA, Tenn. (WZTV) — The Columbia Police Department has opened an investigation into a deadly shooting near Spring Hill High School Friday afternoon.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Quik Mart on Nashville Highway at 12:15 p.m. to investigate reports of a gunshot victim. When authorities arrived on scene, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound, prompting a lockdown at Spring Hill High School. It has since been lifted.
Police say the incident did not happen at the Quik Mart, but instead at a home in the area.

Investigators are gathering evidence and interviewing those possibly involved. The Columbia Police Department is not actively seeking additional suspects.
