NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Severe storms are expected to hit Middle Tennessee Friday with the threat of damaging winds, hail, heavy rain and possible tornadoes.

Storms will take place starting around 4pm in the western counties and run through midnight for counties to the east.

FOX 17 Chief Meteorologist Katy Morgan says lightning and up to golf ball sized hail are possible with these storms. The exact timing of the storms continues to shift due to changes in speed of the storms.

Nashville and immediate surrounding areas will likely see storms cross through between 6-9pm. Things are expected to clear out overnight Friday with a few storms on Saturday.
