A teenager was charged after Nashville police said he stole a firearm from a man at gunpoint during an online sale meetup in a church parking lot.

Ahmad Ghalayini, 16, is charged in the armed robbery of a man in the parking lot of First United Pentecostal Church on Tuesday.

Police said Ghalayini met up with the man at the church along Charlotte Pike, but when the two approached each other, Ghalayini pulled out a handgun and robbed the victim of his firearm.

The teen fled to a wooded area near the church. Police say detectives developed Ghalayini as a suspect in the case and arrested him Tuesday at W.A. Bass Middle School.

The suspect apparently admitted that he robbed the victim. Police found the stolen gun at Ghalayini's home, officers said.

Ghalayini was charged with aggravated robbery in Juvenile Court.
