$25K doantion made to Metro's "Shop with a Cop" in memory of fallen Officer Eric Mumaw
NASHVILLE, Tenn. —
A Metro Nashville Police officer's legacy is living on after he died saving a woman's life.
Officer Eric Mumaw died in February trying to rescue a woman who was reportedly suicidal and driving her car into the Cumberland River.
A group's $25,000 donation in memory of Officer Mumaw is helping Nashville kids have a Merry Christmas. The check from the "100 Club of Nashville" will go to the "Shop with a Cop" program, in which disadvantaged kids get to pick out Christmas presents with Metro police officers.
Officer Mumaw was a strong supporter of the program.
