NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The Metro Nashville Police Department has opened a homicide investigation following the shooting death of a 23-year-old man Thursday night.
Officers responded to the 1500 block of 9th Ave. North just after 10:30 p.m. on reports of a shooting. The Nashville Fire Department transported the 23-year-old shooting victim to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with CPR in progress.
The victim, who was shot in the chest, died upon arrival to the hospital.
Officers are now searching for a suspect described as a black male, approximately 6' tall with a thin build.
