LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. (WZTV) - A middle Tennessee infant is hospitalized with multiple broken bones and severe internal injuries after being physically abused by their father, police say.

Michael Fisher, 30, is charged with aggravated child abuse and Brooklyn Tidwell, age 27, is charged with aggravated child neglect.

Lawrenceburg Police started to investigate the child abuse case after Fisher and Tidwell brought their 2-month-old baby to Southern Tennessee Regional Medical Center. The baby had to be airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where they are still in critical condition with multiple broken bones and severe internal injuries.

Police said the baby's father is accused of physically abusing the baby on Jan. 26.

Both parents are scheduled to appear in Lawrence County General Sessions court on Feb. 7.
