NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A 17-year-old has been charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend in West Nashville in the first homicide of 2019 in the Metro area.
Osmar Miranda Porras, 17, is charged with criminal homicide in the murder of Daniela Medina, 18, at Rolling Hills Apartments.
Officers responded to the complex along Premier Drive and found a female shot in the torso.
The victim, identified as Medina, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Police say Porras used to live at this complex, but was banned from the property. He and Medina used to date.
Porras was actually the one who called 911 after the shooting, but was not honest with officers, Metro Police said. Police said at minimum, they believe Porras handled the murder weapon, which was later recovered.
Police are looking for other possible suspects. Anyone with information should call Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
