Franklin Police are investigating a shooting on I-65 early Thursday morning in which an 11-month-old baby was injured by flying glass.

Officers responded to I-65 southbound near Cool Springs Boulevard at about 2:45 a.m.

Police said someone in a car shot into the rear passenger window of the victim's vehicle. There were three adults and three children, ages 12, 17 and 11 months, traveling from Illinois.

Family members told FOX 17 News they were on their way through Tennessee to Alabama for a family member's heart surgery.

A suspect has not been identified and the motive for the shooting is unclear. The suspect vehicle is described as a light-colored Dodge Charger with blue racing stripes.

Franklin Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to come forward. A cash reward is being offered for anonymous information provided to Williamson County Crime Stoppers: (615) 794-4000.
