The Holly Bobo murder was a journey into the great unknown.

The findings in the kidnapping, rape and murder of Holly Bobo were secret right up to trial. When that trial began, there was no shortage of surprises.

Two things stand out, prosecutors were put into the strange position of proving that for two full years the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation had bungled the case. That had to be done before they could come back with a second valid case against Zach Adams.

The second big surprise was Karen Bobo. Her decision to allow Zach Adams a life-in-prison sentence instead of the death penalty.
