      FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR THURSDAY

Rain is moving in for Thursday, as the atmosphere is primed for heavy pockets. Look for showers to increase in coverage through the morning on Thursday, becoming numerous by the afternoon. Anything that forms will be capable of dropping a quick half inch to one inch of rain. This will lead to ponding and flash flooding. Overall, the greatest threat for storms will be along and north of I-40. We could see 1-3" of rain by Thursday night. Because of the showers and cloud cover, temperatures will be much cooler during the day, with highs in the low 80s. Storm chances will come down just a bit heading into Friday and the weekend, but I would keep the umbrella handy for the next several days. A chance for storms will exist each afternoon!

TONIGHT: Mainly cloudy with a few storms. Low 73

THURSDAY: Mainly cloudy, much cooler. Heavy rain likely with flash flooding possible. High 80
