We're in for a wild Friday with record highs, breezy winds and severe storms in the evening. Winds will increase through Friday morning from S 5-10 mph to 15-25 mph by Friday afternoon. This will help push temperatures into the upper 70s and low 80s. The forecast high is 80 degrees for Friday. If we hit it, we'll set a new record. (Current record is 77 in 1890). Our storm threat will increase in the early evening hours and last until about midnight. Storms will develop in west Tennessee and push into our viewing area throughout the night. The main threats will be damaging winds and hail, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Much colder air will arrive behind the front for early Saturday morning. Highs will struggle to reach 50 degrees. A freeze is expected Sunday morning with lows in the upper 20s. If you have any flowers or plants that are in full bloom, be sure to put a sheet over them to protect them from the frost.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and very mild. Low 58
FRIDAY: Partly cloudy, windy and very warm. Severe storms possible at night. High 80
