MT. JULIET, Tenn. (Kai Beech) -- A male student allegedly assaulted a male teacher at Mt. Juliet High School on Friday, Wilson County Sheriff Robert Bryan confirmed to FOX 17.

The teacher was not transported to the hospital. The teacher had been having disciplinary problems with the student over Cheetos.  The student was cited.

The attack happened at Mt. Juliet and students say it all started over a bag of chips that the student refused to put away.

"He choked the teacher, banged his head against the wall, punched him and threw a computer," said Brooklyn Butler, a Mt. Juliet sophomore. "(The teacher) told him to stop and the kid got up and was like, 'you're not going to tell me what to do' and just started lashing at him.
Despite that severe lashing, FOX 17 was told the teacher did not go to the hospital.

Students' parents said this news is shocking and something they never would have thought would happen in this school district.

"It's pretty scary because," said Mindy Herrera, whose daughter goes to Mt. Juliet High School. "We moved from Davidson County to Wilson County for better schools."
