CHARLOTTE, Tenn. -- A gardening project is yielding more than just fruits and vegetables in Dickson County. It's providing jobs for female inmates at the Dickson County Jail in Charlotte. Its hard work, but the inmates selected for the program say working outside is a privilege and they enjoy seeing the plants the nurture yield tomatoes, cucumbers, corn and watermelons. All of the produce is donated to the Dickson County Help Center. The agency feeds more than a hundred families each week.
