UPDATE: Convicted Felon Arrested for Shooting Two Victims, Pistol Whipping a Third

Nashville North Precinct detectives apprehended on Monday evening a convicted felon who is accused in this months violent attacks on three victims, two of whom were shot, according to a press release.

Antonio Batts, 36, was taken into custody without incident after being located in the 3900 block of Crouch Drive.

Batts is the suspected gunman who, at 12:09 a.m. on Monday, approached a man working on a car in the 1700 block of 14th Avenue North. He is alleged to have forced the victim into the vehicle at gunpoint and made him drive a short distance before robbing him of $10 and pistol whipping about the head. In that case, Batts is being charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping.

On July 17, detective charged Batts with attempted murder, attempted aggravated robbery and unlawful gun possession by a felon for shooting a man in the 1500 block of 14th Avenue North during an argument. On July 7, Batts is alleged to have shot his cousin in the leg when the victim refused Batts robbery demands.

Batts was free on $50,000 bond for an April arrest for aggravated assault and unlawful gun possession by a felon. He has prior convictions for aggravated robbery, selling cocaine and aggravated assault.
