Hermitage Precinct detectives are working to identify the gunman who on June 20 robbed the Mapco at 585 Stewarts Ferry Pike and then, minutes later, attempted to rob three separate victims in a parking lot at 5851 Old Hickory Boulevard, where he also fired shots, Nashville Police said in a media release.

The suspect entered the Mapco just before midnight and demanded money from the register at gunpoint, the release said. He reportedly fled with $8 cash.  Minutes later, he attempted to rob three persons in the parking lot outside of a sports bar.  The victims refused to comply.  The suspect reportedly fired two shots and one of the victims chased him. He fled in an older model red four-door sedan.

The suspect is described as a black man who appears to be in his 20s.  He is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Anyone who recognizes the gunman is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Citizens can also send an electronic tip to Crime Stoppers by texting the word CASH along with their message to 274637 (CRIMES) or online at www.nashvillecrimestoppers.com. Persons who contact Crime Stoppers by phone, text or Internet can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
