Nashville Sounds Host Peanut-Free Day -- Eric Alvarez

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds scrubbed Greer Stadium for days to welcome kids with peanut allergies Monday night for the second-annual peanut-free night.

Maggie Bevins, 13, hadn't been to too many baseball games, mostly because the peanuts and crackerjacks most of us enjoy could be deadly for her.

"If I eat a peanut or any other nut, I could go into anaphylactic shock which means I quit breathing," Bevins said.  "It's really bad."

The CDC says about 5 percent of kids in the U.S. suffer from a food allergy.  That's why for the second time in as many years, the sounds hosted peanut free night.

"I think it's awesome that they did that so people with allergies can come and enjoy a baseball game," Bevins said.
