Winter-Like Conditions Expected this Weekend

Winter-like conditions will be possible for middle Tennessee this weekend.  A freeze warning is in effect for Friday and Saturday night.  Temperatures will drop to around the freezing mark in Nashville and upper 20s outside the metro area.  Saturday night will be even colder with temperatures dropping as low as the mid-20s outside the metro.  Breezy NW winds will add to the chill.  Bring plants and pets indoors for the weekend and make sure outdoor vegetation is protected as well.In addition to the cold, rain showers along the Cumberland Plateau will change over to light snow overnight.

UPDATE: Funeral Arrangements Made for Teen Drowning Victim in Lebanon

UPDATE: Kent Foster has been identified as the victim in the drowning on Old Hickory Lake Monday morning. He is a 2014 graduate of Watertown High School. His funeral is Friday at 2 p.m. at the Watertown First Baptist Church. Visitation is Thursday from 2-8 p.m.


LEBANON, Tenn. -- A teenager drowned this morning while swimming in a cove on Old Hickory Lake in Lebanon.

The Wilson County Sheriff's Department confirms the death of a 17-year-old male in a diving accident after responders were called to Misty Cove on Ramsey Road just after 12:30 a.m., when the teen never resurfaced. The body of the victim was recovered just before 2 a.m.

The victim's identity has not been released.

Sheriff Robert Bryan says a group of teenagers were just having a good time on a warm night before the tragic accident.

Marine 11 and the TWRA also responded to the scene.
