FIRST ON FOX:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Half of a husband/wife police impersonator team is behind bars this morning.

Sabrina Thompson, 28, is in Davidson County Jail Tuesday morning as the accomplice to a June 3 crime where she and her husband, Charles Thompson, are accused of stopping a driver on the 800 block of Murfreesboro Pike and robbing him, according to Metro police.

The two occupants of the dark-colored vehicle used a flashing blue light to pull over the victim, according to the affidavit. He states they motioned him to pull over up the road behind a building at the Days Inn at 821 Murfreesboro Pike.

The Thompsons reportedly had badges on chains around their neck and wore black vests, acting as if microphones were in them.

The victim was patted down, while Sabrina allegedly reached in his pocket and took his wallet, keys and $200 cash. They told him they were going to run his identification and took off.

The victim was not injured.

No weapons were displayed.

Anyone with knowledge of Charles' whereabouts is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 74-CRIME. Charles is also wanted for a second incident on June 4 where he allegedly took a man's ATM card and tried to withdraw money while posing as an officer.

Sabrina is due in court at noon today to face charges of  false imprisonment, criminal impersonation of law enforcement and theft. She is booked on $40,000 bond.
