Cumberland County authorities are searching for a prisoner named Anthony Ramsey, who escaped from custody while being transported to a rehabilitation facility, according to Sheriff Butch Burgess.

Burgess said Ramsey got lose after the deputies stopped at the Mountain View Market on 127 South at Highway 28. He was being transported from Oak Ridge to Sequatchie County on meth charges.

Ramsey, 33, is described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a goatee - which is itself described as a "Fu Manchu"-type beard and mustache. He was wearing a red shirt and black shorts.

The area where Ramsey left custody is described as having a lot of houses, and so officials think he may try to hide in someone's barn. Residents are being advised to be on alert. Burgess said Ramsey may be attempting to steal a vehicle to flee the area.
