Stream WZTV Fox 17 Newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5am and News at 9pm.

A New Jersey woman took the unprecedented step of filming a non-graphic video of her first-trimester abortion in an effort to "show it wasn't scary-and that there is such a thing as a positive abortion story." The video has generated both outrage and support, leading to an interview with Cosmopolitan.com where she explains her thought-process and beliefs.

25-year-old Emily Letts is an abortion counselor with a New Jersey clinic who decided to film the procedure which was done at the clinic where she works. Letts says she believes the procedure is "safer than giving birth" and knew she was not ready to have a child, leading to her decision.

Letts also adds she wanted to take the route of surgery instead of taking a pill because she wanted to show "it wasn't scary" and wanted to "inspire other women to stop the guilt."

Letts says since posting the video, many of the comments shared by people has been "breathtakingly supportive," but also adds there have been plenty of responses expressing "you killed your baby." Regardless of response, Emily says her story is a positive one.
