Freeze Warning, Cumberland Plateau Advisory

Winter-like conditions will be possible for middle Tennessee this weekend. A freeze warning is in effect for Friday and Saturday night. Temperatures will drop to around the freezing mark in Nashville and upper 20s outside the metro area. Saturday night will be even colder with temperatures dropping as low as the mid-20s outside the metro. Breezy NW winds will add to the chill. In addition to the cold, rain showers along the Cumberland Plateau will change over to light snow overnight.

Cat Shot in Both Legs Recovering in Brentwood

BRENTWOOD, Tenn.- A 2-year-old American short-hair orange tabby cat named Timmy is recovering at the Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners clinic in Brentwood after being shot in both his front legs.  

The cat was found near the Tennessee State Fairgrounds and brought to the clinic by a good Samaritan. Timmy's left front leg had to be amputated due to the severity of the wound, but Dr. Kevin Au was able to save his right leg. 

After a blood transfusion, Timmy is expected to make a full recovery. Those interested in donating to his care are asked to contact Nashville Cat Rescue at
