Freeze Warning, Cumberland Plateau Advisory

Winter-like conditions will be possible for middle Tennessee this weekend. A freeze warning is in effect for Friday and Saturday night. Temperatures will drop to around the freezing mark in Nashville and upper 20s outside the metro area. Saturday night will be even colder with temperatures dropping as low as the mid-20s outside the metro. Breezy NW winds will add to the chill. Bring plants and pets indoors for the weekend and make sure outdoor vegetation is protected as well. In addition to the cold, rain showers along the Cumberland Plateau will change over to light snow overnight.

Seized Dogs Showing Improvement -- Sky Arnold

Nashville, Tenn ---- In the last month Dolly has gained around 15 lbs in the care of Metro Animal Control.

The Pitt Bull is among 28 dogs seized from an alleged dog fighting ring in Bordeaux.

This week the Animal Farm Foundation is testing all of them for aggression.

Bernice Clifford says so far only 2 have shown aggression towards other dogs and none have shown it towards humans.

"There's a very small number I would say are gonna need a lot of work around other dogs but very small," said Clifford.
"I would say based on what we've seen the majority of them are adoptable"

That's a good sign that most of the dogs will eventually be adoptable.

Joe Simmons is proof those adoptions can be successful.

The Middle Tennessee Dog Trainer has helped numerous fighting dogs become pets over the years including his own American Staffordshire Terrier, Little Big Momma.

"She had severe animal aggression.  She was a fighter and she was a breeding female," said Simmons.

Simmons says Little Big Momma showed so much improvement within four months he let her be around other dogs off leash.

Today she's a part of the family.

"Total family pet, sleeps with a Jack Russell and a Dachshund and she's got another brother that's a big Pitt named Cain," said Simmons.
