NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The dogs rescued from a suspected north Nashville fighting ring are set to undergo temperament testing to determine their future, the Metro Nashville Health department says.

The Animal Farm Foundation and the Humane Society of the United States will work togehter to see if the animals can be rehabilitated.

The dogs are being held at a secret location away from Metro animal control.

Metro council candidate William Guthoerl says the secret location is in the Lakewood community and he's concerned about the dogs effect on the building and the potential dangers to neighboring families.

"The condition the facility will be left in because it's not intended to house animals when they do move out and how that may impact the facility as well as the safety concerns because of aggressive behavior from the animals should they escape and get into the community," Guthoerl said.

Several of the animals already got out of their kennels once, the health department said.  They fought and one of the dogs died.

The Health Department says they need to keep the housing location a secret because the dogs are very valuable in the animal fighting community.
