Rapist Ordered to Community Service at Rape Crisis Center

Stream WZTV Fox 17 Newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5am and News at 9pm.

A 20-year-old Dallas man convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl was given a sentence which has garnered national attention and left people scratching their heads wondering what the judge was thinking?

Sir Young was sentenced by State District Judge Jeanine Howard to serve deferred probation, get sex offender treatment and serve 250 hours community service...at a rape crisis center.

The director of the Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center compared the community service portion of the sentence to that of saying a "pedophile should do their community supervision helping at a pre-school.

Instead of serving a maximum 20 year sentence for his crime, the Dallas Morning News reports Judge Howard gave Young the light sentence because "She wasn't the victim she claimed to be," adding "the girl had texted Young asking him to spend time with her; the girl had agreed to have sex with him but just didnt want to at school; medical records show the girl had three sexual partners and had given birth to a baby; and Young was barely 18 at the time."

The girl's mother has refuted the allegations, telling DMN her daughter has never been pregnant and that she was livid about the comments.
