FOX News-- Turns out the phrase "nag to death" is true after all. Researchers at the University of Copenhagen studied 9,875 men and women age 36-52 over a span of 11 years and found men who faced demands from their partner are twice as likely to die compared to 34% of women.

The research suggests since men have smaller networks of friends to confide in, they often do so to their spouse, the person who might be giving them grief. Woman on the other hand, have bigger networks to share stresses with, allowing them to 'get things off their chest' and better deal with stress situations.

Men are also more likely not to share problems with friends and family. Such stresses put a strain on the cardiovascular system which is associated with an increase in blood pressure and heart disease. 'Men will limit their conversations with friends and family. The one person they have as a confident is actually the one putting the worries and demands on them then that could be making them more vulnerable.'
