Light Snow and Rain Expected

A quick-moving system will move through tonight and early Thanksgiving morning producing rain and snow showers. Tonight light rain will push through Middle TN. Snow showers will be likely along and north of I-40, with some accumulation in S. KY and the Cumberland Plateau. 1-2 is possible along the Plateau by early Thurs. morning. Up to .5 inch is possible in S. KY and nearby TN counties. Those along the I-40 corridor will see flurries with little to no accumulation. Roads will become slick along the Plateau overnight and early Thurs. morning.

6 Charged with Trafficking Marijuana into Middle Tennessee

An ongoing investigation that intensified over the past four months into the trafficking of hundreds of pounds of marijuana from northern California to Middle Tennessee resulted in the recent arrests of six persons who are charged with engaging in a drug conspiracy.

Two of the six persons arrested, Luan Nguyen, 26, and Nelson Tu, 24, both of San Francisco, California, are in custody and will be brought back to Nashville to face drug and money laundering charges.  

Nashvillians William White, 27, of Cabot Drive (far right) and Jan Alric Ocbina-Perez, 27, of Cedarcreek Trail, (third in photo) and two persons from Greenbrier, Tennessee, Kyle Fletcher, 27, (second) and Taryn Austin, 28, (first) are each alleged to have received numerous shipments of high-grade marijuana sent from several different locations in northern California to Middle Tennessee via the U.S. mail.  They are all charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana.  Additionally, Perez, Fletcher and Austin are all charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Austin and Fletcher are being held in lieu of $80,000 bond.  Ocbina-Perez is being held on $500,000 bond and White is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond.

The investigation, which is being conducted by the Metro police officers assigned to the 20th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, is continuing.
