UPDATE: Records show that 30-year-old Johnathan Matheny was booked into the Metro Jail at around 12:30 a.m. Thursday. Stay tuned to FOX 17 throughout the day for more details.

Hendersonville police  have issued an arrest warrant for a man who is accused of pretending to be a mobile mechanic in order to steal from victims.

Investigators say Johnathan Matheny, 30, of Nashville, has been posting ads on Craigslist to advertise his services as a mobile mechanic. Matheny allegedly waits for victims to contact him. When they do, he asks them to meet up. Matheny then asks victims to pay in advance for automotive parts needed to fix their vehicle. He allegedly did this to a Hendersonville family and left with their SUV and $450 in cash. The victims, Jonathan and Tiffany Wright say they haven't seen Matheny or their white Chevy Tahoe since March 27th. The family has five children and are left with only a small second vehicle. The Wright's say they now have to depend on family and friends if they want to transport their entire family to church or anywhere else.

If you believe you have been a victim of Matheny or have further information on this case, please contact Hendersonville Crime Stoppers at 615-573-5400. Tips can also be submitted by text to the number 274637 (crimes) using keyword TIPHPD.
