Freeze Warning, Cumberland Plateau Advisory

Winter-like conditions will be possible for middle Tennessee this weekend. A freeze warning is in effect for Friday and Saturday night. Temperatures will drop to around the freezing mark in Nashville and upper 20s outside the metro area. Saturday night will be even colder with temperatures dropping as low as the mid-20s outside the metro. Breezy NW winds will add to the chill. In addition to the cold, rain showers along the Cumberland Plateau will change over to light snow overnight.

Police Release Surveillance Photo of Cabbie Robbery Suspects

Police have released a surveillance photo of two men suspected of robbing a cab driver on Wednesday at the intersection of Highway 70 South and Sawyer Brown Road, according to a press release.

The cabbie picked up the suspects on Demonbreun Street in Nashville around 3:30 a.m.  They asked the cabbie to take them to Bellevue.  Upon arriving, they grabbed the driver by the neck, took his money and fled on foot toward Bellevue Mall, the release said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects from the attached surveillance photos is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Citizens can also send an electronic tip to Crime Stoppers by texting the word "CASH" along with their message to 274637 (CRIMES) or online at www.nashvillecrimestoppers.com.  Persons who contact Crime Stoppers by phone, text or Internet can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
