Final Four Fans Tell FOX17 What they Found Out about Music City

Stream Fox 17 newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5 am and News at 9 pm.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - With so many Final Four basketball fans in town, we wanted to know how well those visitors like Nashville. Right now downtown is packed with sports fans. Once this high profile basketball event is over, will these folks ever return to Nashville to enjoy the sights and sounds of Music City? Connecticut fans are getting a warm-up, if you will, for tomorrow's game as their men's basketball team is playing in the National Title game even as this goes up on the web. That's brought out these fans to watch the game downtown, but we wondered if some of them are having such a good time they might come back in the future. You can spot Zanne Koehne a block away. The last few days her colorful hat has been dancing downtown with her friend Charters Harrison, both enjoying the atmosphere of the Women's Final Four.

It's estimated the event will bring 20,000 people like them to Nashville, and a lot of them come from places that don't send many visitors here.

Deana Ivey is among those who believe this event provides Nashville a real opportunity to make new fans who will come back, but that's only if they like what they see. We asked basketball fans what they liked and didn't like. Almost everyone we talked to wants to visit again. That includes Zanne and Charters, who are already planning what to do next time.

The Women's Final Four may be important for more than what it does for Nashville this year. Some say this event could act as a springboard for other events. We'll explore the possibilities TONIGHT on FOX17 NEWS.
