Freeze Warning, Cumberland Plateau Advisory

Winter-like conditions will be possible for middle Tennessee this weekend. A freeze warning is in effect for Friday and Saturday night. Temperatures will drop to around the freezing mark in Nashville and upper 20s outside the metro area. Saturday night will be even colder with temperatures dropping as low as the mid-20s outside the metro. Breezy NW winds will add to the chill. In addition to the cold, rain showers along the Cumberland Plateau will change over to light snow overnight.

Soccer Player Shot After On-field Altercation in Edgehill Area

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Things got heated after a soccer match in the Edgehill area when one player shot a member of the other team.

A 31-year-old male is recovering from a non-critical gunshot wound to his shoulder after an opposing team member shot him at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Rose Park on Edgehill Avenue, according to Metro police. Witnesses say the heated game produced some fights.

The suspect, who escaped, fired a handgun in the direction of the victim's team. No one else was shot.

Police are investigating. Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to call 862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
