Rutherford County Roundup Nets 37 Arrests

Stream WZTV Fox 17 Newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5am and News at 9pm.

Thirty-seven wanted suspects, including a fugitive from New Hampshire, were apprehended Wednesday during a roundup involving local, state and federal officers through Rutherford County, said Sheriff Robert Arnold.

Most of the suspects were felony offenders with a few suspects wanted for domestic assault.  Many of the suspects were convicted felons who violated the conditions of their probation and parole.

Suspect John Gebo, 28, of January Street in Murfreesboro, was charged with being a fugitive from justice. He will be held until extradited to New Jersey.

Those suspects who are abusing children, robbing people and burglarizing homes are the ones we concentrated on during this roundup, Sheriff Arnold said. We feel this roundup has made our community safer.

Maj. Guy Goff, who supervises the Sheriffs Criminal Warrants Division, said the teams used old-fashioned techniques and technology to locate the wanted suspects.

Teams from Rutherford County Sheriffs Office, La Vergne Police, the Tennessee Department of Correction Probation and Parole and the U.S. Marshals Task Force swept through the county before sunrise to catch the suspects.

We certainly appreciate the other agencies that assisted us, Goff said.
