Indiana Twin Girls Laid To Rest One Week After Parents Wedding

Stream WZTV Fox 17 Newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5am and News at 9pm.

Tragedy rocked an Aurora, Indiana neighborhood after twin 2-year-old girls fell into a neighbor's pool and drowned.

Just last week, little Jocelyn and Shaylyn Spurlock were flower girls at their parents wedding. Just a few days later, their mother left the girls with a grandmother to babysit while she ran an errand. According to WLWT, the grandmother fell asleep while the twins watched a movie in the living room. Somehow, they exited the home as she slept.

They wandered to a neighbor's above-ground, covered pool which had filled with some rainwater on top and drowned.

The twins, who were said to be inseparable and dubbed the "tornado twins," were laid to rest this weekend the same way they were in life...together. The girls, who loved angels, were buried together holding hands in one coffin which was decorated with angels.

The girls' grandfather told KSHB it is a "cruel irony" the very fact they were inseperable could have led to their tragic passing. Adding to the sad irony is the fact their funeral was held yesterday in the same church their parents had just married in the week before.
