Knoxville Man Has Fake Ransom Denied by Mother

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.-- A Knoxville man who staged his own kidnapping had the tables turned when his mother said she wasn't paying the $200 ransom for his release. 

According to Wave 3 News, 25-year-old Zachery Logsdon sent mom texts saying his drug dealer was going to kill him if he didn't pay up $200 dollars.

But instead of giving him the money, she called police and then arranged a place to drop off the drug money. When Logsdon went to pick up the money, he saw investigators and ran. They eventually caught up with him and charged him with filing a false police report and resisting arrest. 

Why did mom call the cops? According to WBIR, Logsdon has tried this before to try and score drug money.
