NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A man is arrested after he directed his car toward a Metro officer in south Nashville.

A female police officer approached a suspicious vehicle parked in the grass of McMurray Middle School on Brewer Drive in the early hours of Monday morning, according to the affidavit. When the driver, 41-years-old James Brock, saw the officer, he put the vehicle into drive and went forward.

The officer told Brock to stop and he put the car into reverse, prompting the officer to radio for help, the report says. Brock then turned around in the grass and chased the officer, who again called for help.

Brock drove off, but was located Wednesday and admitted to being the driver. He told police that he has a prescription pill problem and had taken two Lortabs.

Brock is jailed on $65,000 bond for aggravated assault of an officer with a deadly weapon and evading arrest.
