A new report from researchers at the Boston Medical Center says parents who spend a long time on their cell phones could be damaging the bonds with their children.

Researchers conducted the observation by secretly observing 55 caregivers/parents in "real-life" settings. They found when parents are "highly absorbed" in using their phones they tended to have more negative or less engaged interactions with children.

The study says 73% of adults studied used the phone at least once and more than 15% used their phones while children were still eating and continued as they left the restaurant. Childrent tended to act our or became equally as distracted when their parents were distracted.
