GALLATIN, Tenn. - Heartbreak in Sumner County over a murder committed 850 miles away. We learned Saturday that a former high school student from Gallatin was killed in New Jersey. Billy McCaw was found beaten to death near the Rutgers University campus Saturday. McCaw graduated from Station Camp High in 2010. He was well known here as a standout soccer player. We spoke briefly with his former coach who says Billy was a great kid and one of the best soccer players he's ever coached. The news of his death is certainly a shock. The 22 year old was found dead Saturday behind a house in New Brunswick, New Jersey near Rutgers University. Police say Billy died of blunt force trauma. There has been no arrest and students are concerned. Billy McCaw had recently transferred to Kean University. Police say he'd attended a fraternity party near Rutgers the night before he was found beaten to death.

Billy attended school at Station Camp during his Junior and Senior year. His parents still live here, but are in New Jersey after getting this tragic news.
