UPDATE: Shell Casings Located After Shots Heard on APSU Campus

UPDATE: Austin Peay State University Campus Police say at approximately 9:30pm they received a report of gun shots on Drane Street between Governor's Terrace South and the McReynolds building. Police say witnesses state that a dark colored Nissan Altima and a white Chevrolet Malibu were sitting occupied in the area. Police tell us an individual in the Altima fired 2 shots into the air and fled down Drane Street and made a right onto College Street. We're told the white Malibu was reported to have fled north on Drane towards Marion Street. It is unknown if the individuals involved in this incident have an affiliation with the University. Police say 2 shell casings were located in the area by campus police. We're told APSU police will be be patroling around campus tonight, and will be providing escorts across campus upon request. CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Just a few moments ago, Austin Peay State University Police issued an alert regarding a report of shots fired on campus. Police advise the shots were coming from a dark colored Altima on Drane Street, and that the vehicle was moving towards College Street. Police are asking everyone to avoid the area, and for anyone who sees the vehicle to contact them at 931.221.7786.
