NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The extreme cold could leave you with an extremely high utility bill unless you take precautions. With assistance from the Murfreesboro Fire Department we put a thermal imaging camera to the test. The device was able to quickly detect areas where cold air was seeping in around doors and windows. These are the typical areas where you lose energy dollars. With the thermostat set to sixty six degrees there were areas around windows and doors that were seventeen degrees cooler. Heat losses in these area can keep your heating system working overtime driving up your utility bill.
